Since the advent of Virtual Reality in the late 203xs, played of all races and backgrounds have been welcomed into vast, fantastical worlds. Whether with the older headset tech, or the much more modern neural uplinks, the adventures and fun were open to all.
However, at the recent VRDC in Glitch City, VA announced that their next system, the VRX4, will restict the very demographic that developed the technology.
Placing the blame on incompatable physiology, Technology Lead Al3xa explained,
"With this new system we wanted to focus on improved neural integration and naturals just don't have enough throughput in their biological nervous systems. It's dissappointing, but we really wanted to push whats capable in VR."
This adds to a growing movement which feels that naturals are slowly being left behind in this rapidly advancing world. Lilum, CatBoomers, Gene-Enhanced, and augmented persons simply make up a larger and larger share of the market. Some estimates put the number of Naturals at less than one tenth of the population in the Advanced Worlds by 20XX.
Regardless of the politics, the new system looks popular, with obviously improved fidelity and much better neural imput, making controlling your avatars eerily realistic. Running and combat feel great, though the jumping controlls in the games we tested still felt like they could use some work.
The VRX4 is scheduled to be released on September 10th in all regions.
