Large Scale Data Heist hits Geno-Corp

Geno-Corp, known for its massive participation in the research regarding military-grade augmentations, was hit with a data heist earlier today. It's possibly one of the biggest incidents that Glitch City got to witness yet, leaving the company with a huge loss of data regarding their research. Besides the fact that Geno-Corp is now thrown back in their progress, this also is a signal for a possible threat lingering in the city. Nobody knows about the origin of this attack, several groups and companies are in question. The monetary value of the data lost currently remains unknown.

The first damage was reported through a silent alarm due to the destruction of a security camera, shot at around 2 AM. The only scheduled presence at this time was the janitor team. The investigators on-site found all of the cleaning personnel dead, scattered throughout the whole company complex. Weapons of different calibers were used to gun down everyone in sight, making sure to wipe all possible resistance. The heisters were aware of the complex' layout, all possible cameras being destroyed. The footage only shows brief moments of the masked and heavily armed men, gunning down the janitors and surveillance cameras in rapid succession. A special forces team was dispatched close to immediately once the alarm went off, arriving after the place was already cleared out. Going by that information, the attack must've taken less than twelve minutes, a solid confirmation that it was a well constructed act. Chief executive officer Jaron Parsley declined an interview with the Augmented Eye, leaving questions about lacking security staff unanswered.

Military-grade augmentations are no easy business. A great part of today's market revolves around defensive measurements such as weapons, security systems, data protection and, as mentioned, augmentations. This turns business in that line of work into a relentless fight for money and power. Considering this, the cone of suspects for such theft is pretty wide. Needless to say, it is alerting that the data now might end up in the wrong hands, which could result in a revolt or possible revolution. It wouldn't be the first Human Revolution that the world has seen. Expect increased security presence in industrial parts of Glitch City for now, because many companies are more than aware about their personal progress being on the line. | Funny thing is megacorps don't bother wasting money and resources tracking these shadowrunners down for revenge... they'd rather hire them to steal from rival corps since they're obviously good at their job.
